Tony Wilson Place sits on First Street, opposite the Haçienda building and in another direction, the The Boardwalk.
Little Peter Street was also the site of the famous TJ Davidson's rehearsal rooms and studio complex (35 Little Peter Street), where loads of local punk and post-punk rehearsed, including Joy Division. Sadly demolished in the 1990s, the complex was the location of the Love Will Tear Us Apart video, as well as a lot of Kevin Cummins' great band photos.
In the summer months you can relax in the square, on the free deckchairs and watch the big screen, whilst supping a refreshing drink from HOME. Occasionally there's a stage and live music.
Once an industrial area, (now only visible as the red brick archways on Hewitt Street), TWP is all shiny glassed fronted buildings, restaurants and bars, and home to HOME - one of Manchester's popular arts and culture destinations.
The facade of Deansgate Station still bears the area's original name of Knott Mill.
