Each one has been crafted by Manchester’s own musicians: from big names like Andy and Jez Williams of Doves and techno producer JS Zeiter, to emerging talent from the University of Salford and The Manchester College. Heritage you can hear
Some loops are more than music, they’re living history. You’ll discover sound fragments transformed from archival performances at the Royal Northern College of Music, as well as the earliest computer-generated notes ever made, composed by Alan Turing’s machine in 1952.
You’ll also unlock fresh takes on heritage songs, including a special recording by Mercury Prize-nominated artist Jon Coley, reimagining the Manchester broadside ballad The Wandering Bird.
